CurraView does not collect, track, store, or sell any personal data, browsing history, or user activity. All currency calculations, DOM scanning, and user preference storage are performed 100% locally on your computer.

1. Overview & Single Purpose

CurraView is an in-browser currency visualizer developed by Caffeinated Global. Its single purpose is to automatically detect monetary prices on international websites and display localized, real-time conversions directly alongside the original prices to eliminate currency confusion.

We believe that privacy is a fundamental human right. Our architecture is designed with a strict zero-knowledge, client-side paradigm: our software has no user accounts, no login portals, no analytics trackers, and no remote servers that collect data about your browsing habits.

2. What Information We Collect

We collect zero personally identifiable information (PII). Specifically:

No Personal Identifiers: We do not ask for or collect your name, email address, phone number, address, or identity.
No Browsing History: We do not log, transmit, or record which websites you visit or what pages you browse.
No Keystrokes or Form Input: CurraView does not read form inputs, credit card details, passwords, search queries, or checkout forms.
No Financial or Account Information: We never interact with bank details, payment gateways, or purchase transactions.
No Analytics or Tracking Cookies: CurraView does not load Google Analytics, telemetry libraries, tracking pixels, or third-party advertising scripts.

3. Local Storage on Your Device

CurraView uses the standard Chrome Extension Storage API (chrome.storage.local) to store your preferences entirely offline on your local machine:

Target Currency: Your selected default conversion currency (e.g., USD, EUR, INR).
Display Preferences: Your preferred visual style (Inline, Below Original, Compact, or Hover Tooltip) and font size.
Custom Rules & Overrides: Custom source-to-target currency pairs configured by you.
Domain Exception List: Websites you have chosen to exclude from price conversion.
Cached Exchange Rates: Hourly public forex rates downloaded to allow offline conversion without constant network requests.

None of these settings are ever uploaded to any cloud server or transmitted over the internet.

4. Browser Permissions & Why We Need Them

In accordance with the Google Chrome Web Store Developer Program Policies, here is the exact rationale for each permission requested by CurraView:

<all_urls>	Allows the content script to detect price text patterns and inject converted visual labels across international shopping and travel websites.	Only parses price strings. Never reads personal text or inputs.

5. External Network Requests

CurraView only makes outgoing network requests to fetch current public currency exchange rates:

Endpoint: https://open.er-api.com/v6/latest/USD (Open Exchange Rates).
Data Sent: None. Only an anonymous standard HTTP GET request is performed. No user identifiers, cookies, IP records, or browsing parameters are transmitted.
Data Received: Public numerical currency exchange rate pairs (e.g., "EUR": 0.92, "JPY": 152.4).

6. Strict No-Remote-Code Policy

In strict compliance with Chrome Web Store Manifest V3 guidelines, CurraView does not use or execute remote code. All executable JavaScript code, React components, CSS stylesheets, and icon assets are packaged and delivered inside the local extension zip file. No scripts are loaded from third-party CDNs, external domains, or evaluated via eval().

7. GDPR, CCPA & California Privacy Rights

Because CurraView does not collect, process, or sell any personal data:

We have no personal information to provide in response to "Right to Know" requests.
We have no personal information to delete in response to "Right to Delete" requests (uninstalling the extension completely purges all local storage).
We do not sell or share personal information for behavioral advertising or monetary consideration.

8. Children's Privacy

CurraView does not knowingly collect or solicit any information from anyone under the age of 13.

9. Changes to This Policy

If we ever update this Privacy Policy, the revised version will be published here with an updated "Last Updated" timestamp. Any fundamental changes to data handling will be clearly communicated in extension release notes.
